WakeUp Map: Rethinking Everyday Temporal Rhythms
WakeUp Map addresses a growing challenge in modern life: the guilt and pressure people feel when their natural sleep–wake rhythms fall out of sync with social expectations. Instead of optimizing users toward a “correct” routine, the system reframes waking up as an imaginative, exploratory moment. By mapping wake-up times to global locations and generating AI-driven narratives, WakeUp Map introduces open-ended tracking, encourages playful self-reflection, and reveals how narrative and spatial representations can transform mundane personal data into meaningful, culturally situated experiences. Its contributions lie in offering a new lens on personal informatics—one that centers curiosity, agency, and creative reinterpretation of everyday rhythms.
